TCC
Where?: Airport Terminal 3 Departure Hall
I’ve always been skeptical about the portions offered at TCC and frankly speaking, its filling and you guys should go try it out. They have great stuff there. But if you were to go on a dinner, it’ll probably be expensive, so go during afternoons.
Few days back, I was at TCC with my family and it was quite an experience. Firstly, the seats were lounge chairs to relax and, you know, chill out on. But they used it as one of their dining chairs which made the diners having to sit up completely straight to partake in their meal. Another incident that occured was the chef being all “Gordon Ramsay”. Especially to a fat indian fella who got swallowed and drowned by his beautiful vocabulary. “I pity the fool” as Mr T would say.
We ordered:
Smoked Salmon Avo-Bayon Sandwich

Beef and Turkey Lasagna

Pan-seared Chicken Breast with Porcini Sauce

Pan-seared Chicken Breast with Shogayaki Sauce (One of their NEW items)

The Opinion:
The Sandwich was really good because of the avocado that goes so well with the smoked salmon and the thickness of the rye bread was enough to create a hearty and wholesome feel when you sink your teeth into the sandwich. The gherkins and pickled spring onion bulb on the side, when eaten together with the sandwich, relieves the heavy creaminess of the avocado.
Moving on to the beef and turkey lasagna, according to the most difficult critic in my family, my brother, he claims that the lasagna is one of the best that he has eaten in Singapore. And also, this lasagna has the nutritional value of red and white meats combined, so go for it. Swensens lasagna, you can never and never will be come close to this standard! Make way for TCC’s.
*FYI, turkey meat is one of the leanest and healthiest meats you can find on the market.
Pan-seared Chicken Breast with Porcini Sauce, what can I say about this? Let’s put it this way, the robust, earthy flavour of the porcini mushrooms and the pumpkin mash is a sure win when paired with a piece of chicken breast. Its a rustic dish that has adopted a contemporary approach.
Lastly, Pan-seared Chicken Breast with Shogayaki Sauce. If my Dad likes something, he puts it in his mouth. If he doesn’t like, he also puts it in his mouth. However, looking at the speed in which he puts the pieces of chicken into his mouth, I can safely say that this dish is alright. Frankly, I don’t know the taste of the dish because I was too full to sample, however, it looks good.
Overall, the TCC experience was good and one of the most consistent among the food chains in Singapore. An average of 4.0 out of 5.
